Vote to pass a bill that requires state and local projects funded by the federal government to pay Illinois' prevailing wage when federal prevailing wage is equal to or less than the state's prevailing wage.

Highlights:

• Expands the definition of “public works” to include all federal construction projects administered or controlled by a public body if the prevailing wage rate is equal to or greater than the prevailing wage determined by the United States Secretary of Labor for that locality (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that no public works project may be instituted unless it complies with the provisions of this act regarding prevailing wages, and that the prevailing wage must match the state rate if the federal rate is lower for a given locality (Sec. 11).
