Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the sale or distribution of food packaging, cleaning supplies, cookware, dental floss, ski wax, or juvenile product that has intentionally added PFAS.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the California Department of Toxic Substances Control to evaluate uses of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances in products (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that these restrictions shall apply to products including food packaging, cleaning supplies, cookware, dental floss, ski wax, and juvenile products (Sec. 4).

• Specifies that the aforementioned regulations shall take effect January 1, 2033, and authorizes the department to begin regulation sooner should they find it feasible to do so (Sec. 4).
