Title: Prohibits Schools From Allowing Transgender Girls to Participate in Girls' Sports
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits schools from allowing transgender girls to participate in girls' sports in Michigan.
Requires school boards to designate interscholastic athletic teams based on the sex of the participants (Sec. 1290).
Prohibits school districts from knowingly allowing individuals of the male sex to participate in any interscholastic athletic team or sport designated only for participants of the female sex (Sec. 1290).
Specifies that this Section does not restrict participation on any team or in any sports that are designated for participants of the male sex or that are coeducational (Sec. 1290).
Authorizes students and school districts that are deprived of an athletic opportunity or which suffer harm as a result of a violation of this Section to take private action for relief against the violating entity (Sec. 1290).
Specifies that “sex” means the biological indication of male or female listed on an individual’s original birth certificate (Sec. 1290).
