Title: Requires Schools to Investigate Race-Based Bullying
Vote to pass a bill that requires schools to screen and assess reports of race-based discrimination and bullying and allows reassignment of offenders to an alternative school if requested by the victim's family in Nevada.
Requires schools to screen and assess reports of race-based discrimination and bullying in Nevada (Sec. 1).
Authorizes a school board to assign a student who is a perpetrator of discrimination based on race, bullying or cyberbullying to another school in the district in consultation with the student’s parent or guardian (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if both the victim and the bully move schools, the bill ensures they do not go to the same one (Sec. 1).
Authorizes administrators the ability to assess bullying reports before diving into a full- fledged investigation (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect July 1, 2025 (Sec. 2).
