Title: Increases Caltrans' Ability to Use Temporary Measures to Swiftly Address Known Road Hazards and Implement Complete Streets Upgrades
Vote to pass a bill that increases Caltrans' ability to use temporary measures to swiftly address known road hazards and implement Complete Streets upgrades in California.
Establishes the Quick-Build Project Pilot Program within the department’s maintenance program to expedite development and implementation of low-cost projects, including, but not limited to, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, on the state highway system (Sec. 1).
Specifies that on or before December 31, 2027, the department shall develop and publish all necessary guidance for the deployment of district quick-build projects (Sec. 1).
Specifies that on or before December 31, 2028, the department shall identify and commit to funding a minimum of 6 quick-build projects statewide under the Quick-Build Project Pilot Program (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this section shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2030, and as of that date is repealed (Sec. 1).
