Title: Prohibits New Eligible Customer-Generators from Receiving Solar Credit when Purchasing Real Property

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits new eligible customer-generators from receiving solar credit when purchasing real property.

Highlights:

  • Repeals certain eligibilities of large electrical corporations which have become new customer-generators through the acquisition of real property containing renewable electrical generation (Sec. 2)

  • Requires that such corporations be responsible for certain fees and charges (Sec. 2).  

  • Authorizes the California Public Utilities Commission to adopt a new tariff for new eligible customer-generators (Sec. 2).

  • Authorizes the commission to require eligible customer-generators to use the new tariff if it results in a lower cost impact on customers who are not eligible customer-generators than the prior tariff would have (Sec. 2).

  • Exempts public schools and agricultural customers from the aforementioned provisions (Sec. 2).

  • Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect January 1, 2026 (Sec. 2).
