Title: Authorizes Adding School Board Members, Superintendents and School Administrators Would Have Been Added to the Purview of Colorado's Independent Ethics Commission
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes adding School board members, superintendents and school administrators would have been added to the purview of Colorado's Independent Ethics Commission.
Defines “school district employee” as a temporary or permanent superintendent of a school district or a head administrative officer designated by a school board to execute its policy decisions (Sec. 2).
Defines “school district official” as a member of a school district’s board (Sec. 2).
Defines “special district employee” as a temporary or permanent employee of a special district who is appointed or hired by and reports to the special district’s board (Sec. 2).
Defines “special district official” as a member of a special district’s board (Sec. 2).
Expands the jurisdiction of the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission to cover special district officials and employees, and school district officials and employees (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the Commission to hear complaints, issue findings, and assess penalties on ethics issues involving the previously defined employees or officials (Sec. 2).
Appropriates $120,856 to the judicial department for use by the Commission (Sec. 3).
