Defines “affiliate” as any person or entity that controls or is controlled by another person or entity that manufactures, distributes, sells, or leases new motor vehicles to retail consumers (Sec. 1).
Expands the definition of “manufacturer” to include affiliates that manufacture or assemble new and unused motor vehicles (Sec. 1).
Prohibits a manufacturer from competing against a motor vehicle dealer or service center in the retail sale, lease, service, or warranty service of motor vehicles (Sec. 2).
Prohibits ownership, operation, or control of any motor vehicle dealers if the manufacturer manufactures any vehicle and has never had franchised dealers of any line-make in Colorado (Sec. 2).
Prohibits the service or repair of motor vehicles owned by a manufacturer before the vehicles are delivered to a dealer (Sec. 2).
Specifies that this act’s prohibitions on motor vehicle manufacturer activities also apply to manufacturers of powersports vehicle manufacturers (Sec. 3).
