Highlights:

• Requires that any law enforcement officer, including an elected sheriff, who knowingly and intentionally fails to comply with the requirements be subject to investigation by the attorney general (Sec. 1).

• Requires that a law enforcement officer subject to investigation be allowed to comply (Sec. 1).

• Specifics that upon a determination by the attorney general that a complaint submitted alleging a violation of this section is valid, a law enforcement officer refusing to comply with the requirements of this chapter may have the officer’s case referred to the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Council (Sec. 1).
