Title: Requires Age Verification for Websites That Contain Artificially Created Sexual Material
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires age verification for websites that contain artificially created sexual material in Texas.
Requires age verification for websites that contain artificial sexual material harmful to minors under the age of 18 in Texas (Sec. 1).
Defines “Artificial sexual material harmful to minors” as a computer-generated sexual material harmful to minors that was produced, adapted, or modified using an artificial intelligence application or other computer software in which a person is recognizable as an actual person by the their face, likeness, or other distinguishing characteristic, such as a unique birthmark or other recognizable feature (Sec. 2).
Specifies and stipulates that a publicly available site cannot display artificial sexual content unless it bans explicit material as a policy or has a reasonable age verification process to ensure no minors are on the site (Sec. 4).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning September 1, 2025 (Sec. 9).
