Vote to pass a bill that prohibits landlords from inquiring about the immigration or citizenship status of an applicant, tenant, or other member of an applicant or tenant's household.

Highlights:

• Prohibits landlords from inquiring about the immigration or citizenship status of an applicant, a tenant, or a member of an applicant or tennant’s household (Sec. 2).

• Requires landlords, in the case that they require verification of the identity of an applicant or tenant, to accept any of the following, or any combination thereof, necessary to verify an applicant’s identity (Sec. 2):

• A Social Security card;

• A certified copy of a record of live birth;

• A permanent resident card;

• A visa;

• A taxpayer identification number card;

• A passport, driver license, or other government-issued identification, regardless of expiration date; or

• Any nongovernmental identification or combination of identifications that would permit a reasonable verification of identity.
