Vote to pass a bill that authorizes a study on the consolidation of Northern Nevada firefighting agencies.

Highlights:

• Requires the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners, the Reno City Council and the Sparks City Council to establish, by interlocal agreement, a board to study the creation of a county fire protection district to consolidate fire protection services within certain territory within Washoe County, Reno, and Sparks (Sec. 1-17).

• Requires that the board prepare a written report of the results and any recommendations (Sec. 1-17).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 18).
