Title: Prohibits Police from Stopping, Detaining, or Searching a Vehicle Based Solely on the Smell of Cannabis
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits police from stopping, detaining, or searching a vehicle based on solely on the smell of cannabis in Illinois.
Repeals and removes the requirement for odor-proof and medical cannabis container requirements for Marijuana being inside a vehicle. (Sec. 5).
Specifies that if a motor vehicle is driven or occupied by an individual 21 years or older, law enforcement may not stop and detain the motor vehicle or its driver, nor shall they inspect or search the motor vehicle or the individuals inside it based solely on the odor of burnt or raw cannabis. (Sec. 5).
