Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Safety and Violence Education for Students Act in West Virginia.
Establishes the Safety and Violence Education for Students Act in West Virginia (Article 36).
Specifies that the Department of Education shall require that all schools serving students in grades 6 through 12 in both public and private districts provide to students at least one hour, or one standard class period, of evidence-based youth violence prevention training each school year (Article 36).
Authorizes the training to be delivered in-person, live-virtual, or digitally (Article 36).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Article 36).
