Vote to pass a bill that authorizes teachers to immediately remove from class a student who is "bullying others or is verbally abusive in Texas.

Highlights:

• Authorizes and provides teachers more discretion to immediately remove from class a student who is repeatedly bullying or being violent towards others or is verbally abusive in Texas (Sec. 1-16).

• Prohibits teachers from being penalized for breaking their contracts due to an illness or the relocation of a spouse or live-in partner (Sec. 1-16).

• Requires school districts and the TEA to study how much time teachers spend on non-instructional work and professional development (Sec. 1-16).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately beginning September 1, 2025 (Sec. 17).
