Vote to pass a bill that authorizes hunters to bait deer on private property in North Dakota.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the department from adopting rules or implementing policies that would prohibit or restrict the use of supplemental feed on private property for hunting a big game animal (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that supplemental feed for big game animals may not (Sec. 1):

• Exceed a 50-gallon capacity in a single hunting location; or

• Be placed within 55 feet of any property used for animal agriculture.

• Requires the department to conduct chronic wasting disease surveillance and testing (Sec. 1).

• Requires the department to provide a report to the legislative management before December 31, 2028, in regards to the surveillance and testing protocols and procedures for the chronic waste disease in the state (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes this act through JUly 31, 2029 and after that date specifies it to be ineffective. (Sec. 2).
