Title: Establishes Medicaid Work Requirements

Vote to pass a bill that establishes Medicaid work requirements in New Hampshire.

Highlights:

  • Requires the Department of Health and Human Services to resubmit to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services a demonstration waiver to the state Medicaid plan regarding work requirements as a condition for eligibility (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that the required demonstration waiver must be submitted on or before January 1, 2026 (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that prior to the waiver being submitted to CMS, the department must submit the proposed waiver to the Fiscal Committee of the General Court for approval (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires the department to provide an annual report regarding the status of the waiver application and the implementation of work requirements to all of the following, beginning November 1, 2025 (Sec. 2):

    • The Senate President;

    • The Speaker of the House;

    • The Senate Clerk;

    • The House Clerk; and

    • The Governor.

  • Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect upon its passage (Sec. 2).
