  • Requires the board of directors of a school district to allow students who reside within a contiguous school district and are enrolled in a nonpublic school to participate in an extracurricular, interscholastic athletic competition or contest, if the nonpublic school has not provided a team for the sport within the previous 2 school years (Sec. 2).

  • Requires parents or guardians of students seeking to participate in extracurricular, interscholastic athletic competitions or contests while not enrolled in public schools to pay any fees established for a student’s participation in such sport (Sec. 2).

  • Requires students not enrolled in public schools who are seeking to participate in extracurricular, interscholastic athletic competitions or contests for a public school to meet any established rules for students enrolled in the public school district, including codes of conduct (Sec. 2).

  • Specifies that the effective date of this bill is immediately upon signage (Sec. 3).
