Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Health Care Strategic Recruitment Program to improve the state healthcare worker shortage in New Mexico.
Establishes the Health Care Strategic Recruitment Program to improve the state healthcare worker shortage in New Mexico (Sec. 1).
Requires that the program (Sec. 1):
Assist recruitment efforts of New Mexico communities, healthcare facilities, and healthcare practices for healthcare shortage fields;
Engage in active outreach to New Mexico graduates who are qualified to work in healthcare shortage fields;
Share information about relevant recruitment incentives that New Mexico offers; provide navigators to help applicants through the process of licensing and credentialing and act as a liaison with agencies as appropriate;
Provide other assistance to qualified health care providers as appropriate;
Compile and use relevant alumni contact data from public post-secondary educational institutions;
Track and compile information for relevant recruitment and retention incentive programs across New Mexico; and
Compile and share with the applicant information for relevant job openings, housing, and community and area amenities.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 1).
