Title: Establishes a Voter Referendum to Authorize Sports Betting

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a voter referendum to authorize sports betting if HB 1047 does not pass in Oklahoma.

Highlights:

  • Establishes a legislative referendum which shall be filed with the Secretary of State and addressed to the Governor if the provisions of HB 1047 are not enacted as law in Oklahoma (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies the provisions of HB 1047, including all of the following (Sec. 1-2):

    • Authorizes the conducting of and participation in sports betting;

    • Establishes the Model Tribal Gaming Compact; and 

    • Extends the current federal funding levels for compulsive gambling treatment in the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

  • Authorizes the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and file a copy of the Ballot Title with the Secretary of State and the Attorney General, immediately after the passage of this bill (Sec. 6).
