Vote to pass a bill that authorizes adults to manufacture marijuana edibles and concentrates for personal use in Maryland, effective October 1, 2025.
Authorizes adults to manufacture marijuana edibles and concentrates for personal use in Maryland, effective October 1, 2025 (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the use of volatile solvents to create cannabis concentrates (Sec. 1).
Specifies that possession, cultivation, and distribution of high-volume cannabis over 50 pounds would no longer be considered a felony punishable by a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, and instead, it would be a misdemeanor carrying a maximum 10-year sentence and/or a $50,000 fine (Sec. 1).
Authorizes individuals who are currently facing prison terms that involve a mandatory minimum over cannabis-related convictions to petition the courts for a sentence modification (Sec. 1).
Increases various penalties for crimes related to firearms violations (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning October 1, 2025 (Sec. 2).
