Title: Specifies Parental Bill of Rights Relating to Electronic Educational Records Concerning Their Child
Vote to pass a bill that specifies parental rights to access all written or electronic records concerning their child from the school district in Texas.
Specifies parental rights to access all of the following written or electronic records concerning their child from the school district in Texas without written request, including (Sec. 1):
Attendance records;
Test scores;
Grades;
Disciplinary records;
Counseling records;
Psychological records;
Applications for admission;
Health and immunization information;
Teacher and school counselor evaluations;
Reports of behavioral patterns; and
Records relating to assistance provided for learning difficulties, including information collected regarding any intervention strategies used with the child.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate and if it does not receive the required ratio shall take effect beginning September 1, 2025 (Sec. 2).
