Vote to pass a bill that requires Idaho public schools to provide human growth and fetal development instruction in grades 5-12.

Highlights:

• Requires each school district, specially chartered district, and public charter school serving students in grades 5-12 shall include instruction on human growth and development (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that instructions must include the following (Sec. 1):

• High-definition ultrasound video, at least 3 minutes in duration showing the development of the brain, heart, sex organs, and other vital organs in early fetal development; and

• A high-quality, computer-generated rendering showing the process of fertilization and every stage of human development inside the uterus, noting cell growth and organ development for every week of pregnancy till birth.

• Requires this instruction be included in every class that discusses or provides instruction concerning human biology, human contraception, or sexually transmitted diseases or infections (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the attorney general to bring a civil action to a writ of mandamus to compel a public school district, specially chartered district, or public charter school to comply with this provision. (Sec. 1).
