Title: Amends Decision-Making Authority About Child Daycare Vaccination Requirements from the Department of Health and Welfare to the Idaho Legislature
Vote to pass a bill that amends decision-making authority about vaccination requirements for children attending daycares and schools from the Department of Health and Welfare to the Idaho Legislature.
Amends decision-making authority about vaccination requirements for children attending daycares and schools from the Department of Health and Welfare to the Idaho Legislature (Sec. 1-8).
Requires all children to receive the following vaccinations, including (Sec 2):
Diphtheria, Tetanus and A-Cellular Pertussis (DTaP) vaccine, 5 doses;
Hepatitis A vaccine, 2 doses;
Hepatitis B vaccine, 3 doses;
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine, 2 doses;
Polio vaccine, 4 doses; and
Varicella vaccine, 2 doses.
Specifies that in addition to the criteria listed in paragraph (a) of this subsection, the following must be met for admission into the 7th grade (Sec. 2):
Diphtheria, Tetanus, and A-Cellular Pertussis (DTaP) Booster, one dose; and
Meningococcal vaccine, one dose.
Prohibits this bill from changing childhood immunization guidelines or the process allowing parents to opt their school-age children out of immunizations (Sec. 1-8).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill declare an emergency and shall take effect beginning July 1, 2025 (Sec. 9).
