Vote to pass a bill that amends decision-making authority about vaccination requirements for children attending daycares and schools from the Department of Health and Welfare to the Idaho Legislature.

Highlights:

• Amends decision-making authority about vaccination requirements for children attending daycares and schools from the Department of Health and Welfare to the Idaho Legislature (Sec. 1-8).

• Requires all children to receive the following vaccinations, including (Sec 2):

• Diphtheria, Tetanus and A-Cellular Pertussis (DTaP) vaccine, 5 doses;

• Hepatitis A vaccine, 2 doses;

• Hepatitis B vaccine, 3 doses;

• Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine, 2 doses;

• Polio vaccine, 4 doses; and

• Varicella vaccine, 2 doses.

• Specifies that in addition to the criteria listed in paragraph (a) of this subsection, the following must be met for admission into the 7th grade (Sec. 2):

• Diphtheria, Tetanus, and A-Cellular Pertussis (DTaP) Booster, one dose; and

• Meningococcal vaccine, one dose.

• Prohibits this bill from changing childhood immunization guidelines or the process allowing parents to opt their school-age children out of immunizations (Sec. 1-8).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill declare an emergency and shall take effect beginning July 1, 2025 (Sec. 9).
