Title: Requires School Districts to Develop Policies Prohibiting Cell Phone Use in Class
Vote to pass a bill that requires school districts to develop policies banning cell phone use in the classroom in Kentucky.
Requires the board of education of each school district to adopt at a minimum a policy that prohibits a student's use of a personal telecommunication device during instructional time, except during an emergency, or if directed to do so by a teacher for instructional purposes (Sec. 1).
Requires the Kentucky Board of Education to prevent social media and sexually explicit content from being accessed by students while at school, an exception is social media which is being used for instructional purposes by the teacher (Sec. 2).
