Title: Appropriates State Funding to Assist Laid-Off Federal Workers and Expands Attorney General Power to Pursue Litigation
Vote to pass a bill that appropriates state funds to assist federal workers affected by Trump-directed layoffs and expands the authority of the state Attorney General to pursue related litigation in Maryland.
Appropriates and reallocates $5 million in state funds from the Revenue Stabilization Account to assist federal workers affected by Trump-directed layoffs (Sec. 1-2).
Extends the authority of the state Attorney General to pursue related litigation in Maryland (Sec. 1-2).
Authorizes the Maryland Department of Labor to forgive a loan from this account (Sec. ).
Increases the amount the Governor is required to appropriate in the proposed budget each year to the Attorney General to be used for certain purposes (Sec. 1-2).
Amends a requirement that the Attorney General use a certain appropriation to employ a certain number of attorneys (Sec. 1-2).
