Vote to pass a bill that reduces requirements for law enforcement to temporarily suspend access to firearms for those deemed a threat to themselves or others in New Mexico.

• Reduces certain requirements for law enforcement to temporarily suspend access to firearms for those deemed a threat to themselves or others in New Mexico (Sec. 1).

• Amends the state Extreme Risk Firearm Protection Order (red flag law) to make it easier to navigate for both law enforcement and individuals so that it can be more effectively enforced (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a police officer may file a petition stating why they believe a person poses a danger to themselves or others by owning, purchasing or receiving a firearm (Sec. 1).
