Title: Requires Employers of Domestic Workers to Provide Annual Sick Leave
Vote to pass a bill that requires employers of domestic workers to provide annual paid sick leave in New York.
Requires employers of domestic workers to provide annual sick leave in New York (Sec. 1).
Species that employers with 4 or fewer employees in any calendar year shall provide the following sick leave (Sec. 1):
Up to 40 hours of annual unpaid sick leave if the employer has a net income of less than $1 million in the previous tax year; or
Up to 40 hours of annual paid sick leave if the employer has a net income of greater than $1 million in the previous tax year.
Specifies that employers with between 5 and 99 employees in any calendar year, including employers of one or more domestic workers, shall provide up to 40 hours of annual paid sick leave (Sec. 1).
Specifies that employers with 100 or more employees in any calendar year shall provide up to 56 hours of annual paid sick leave (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 2).
