Title: Prohibits Student Cellphone Use in Schools from Kindergarten Through 8th Grade
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits student cellphone use in schools from kindergarten through 8th grade in Georgia.
Requires local school systems and public schools to enact policies and procedures for the use of personal electronic devices at school and school-sponsored events by students in kindergarten through eighth grade (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the Department of Education to provide guidance and technical assistance and prohibits certain waivers (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor and any previous legislation found in conflict shall be repealed (Sec. 3).
