Title: Amends Judges' Authority to Deny Bail
Vote to pass a bill that expands judges' authority to deny bail through the state Aniah's Law.
Expands the list of crimes that make individuals unqualified for bail to include (Sec. 1):
Solicitation, attempt, or conspiracy to commit murder; and
Shooting or discharging a firearm, explosive, or other weapon into an occupied dwelling, building, railroad locomotive or car, aircraft, automobile, truck, or watercraft.
Requires the proposed amendment in this bill to be included in the statewide primary elections in 2026 (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the effective date of this bill is following the end of the statewide primary, if a majority of voters approve the amendment (Sec. 2).
