Vote to pass a bill that requires any new benefits mandated by state law to also apply to the State Health Plan in North Carolina.

Highlights:

• Requires that any piece of legislation which contains one or more new health benefit mandates to also contain at least one provision that repeals at least the same number of health benefit mandates that are in effect as of that date. (Sec. 1).

• Requires that all legislation which contains one or more new health benefit mandates to also contain a provision appropriating recurring funds in the amount of the cost of that mandate to the Department of the State Treasurer and the State Health Plan: (Sec. 1).

• Specifies the cost savings if there is any from the repeal of the old health benefit mandate, should have no impact on the amount required to be appropriated to this new mandate. (Sec. 1).
