Vote to pass a bill that prohibits minors ages 17 or younger from marrying individuals 4 years or older.

Highlights:

• Authorizes a judge or court commissioner to issue a written authorization for a minor to marry if the age difference between both parties in the marriage is 4 years or less. (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the court commissioner may not issue a written authorization for a minor to marry until at least 72 hours after the time which the minor and the minor’s parent or legal guardian file the petition for the written authorization (Sec. 1).

• Establishes the date this shall take effect as May 7, 2025 (Sec. 2).
