Vote to pass a bill that expands medication assistance to residents in community-based settings in Washington.

Highlights:

• Expands medication assistance to residents in community-based care settings in Washington (Sec. 1).

• Defines “community-based care settings” to include (Sec. 1):

• Community residential programs for persons with developmental disabilities, certified by the department of social and health services under chapter 71A.12 RCW; 

• Adult family homes licensed under chapter 70.128  RCW; and 

• Assisted living facilities licensed under chapter 18.20 RCW.

• Specifies community-based care settings do not include acute care or skilled nursing facilities (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 1).
