Title: Repeals Sanctuary City Lawsuit Immunity
Vote to pass a bill that allows local government employees and officials in so-called sanctuary cities to be held civilly liable for crimes committed by immigrants without permanent legal status in Georgia.
Requires custodial authorities to comply with any request made in an immigration detainer notice (Sec. 1).
Requires custodial authorities to inform the individual identified within an immigration detainer notice that the individual is being held for notice (Sec. 1).
Repeals the governmental immunity of local officials and employees in matters involving a violation of this act (Sec. 1).
Repeals sovereign immunity of any local governing body that violates this act (Sec. 1).
Repeals the immunity of any custodial authority that violates this act (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 3).
