Title: Requires 30-Day Residency Before Registering to Vote
Vote to amend and pass a bill that requires 30 days of residency in Wyoming before the date of the election a person wishes to vote in, effective July 1, 2025.
Requires a qualified elector to be a bona fide resident of Wyoming for at least 30 days before the date of the election they wish to vote in (Sec. 1).
Defines a “qualified elector” as an individual who (Sec 1):
Has not been convicted of a felony or has had their voting rights restored;
Is registered to vote;
Will be at least 18 years old on the day of the election;
Is not currently adjudicated mentally incompetent;
Is a bona fide resident of Wyoming; and
Has been a bona fide resident of Wyoming for at least 30 days before the date of the election.
Specifies that voter registration shall now include the entry and verification of a person’s residence, including providing proof of residence (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a person may vote by absentee ballot after having registered by mail and having submitted their acceptable identification and proof of residence (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the secretary of state shall promulgate all rules necessary to implement the provisions of this bill (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect on July 1, 2025 (Sec. 3).
