Title: Prohibits the Use of Trigger Activators in Firearms
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of a "trigger activator" designed to make a gun fire faster to mimic an automatic weapon in Virginia.
Defines a “Trigger Activator” as the following, including (Sec. 1):
A conversion kit, tool, accessory, or device designed to alter the rate of fire of a semi-automatic firearm to mimic automatic weapon fire or to increase the rate of fire to a rate faster than such semi-automatic firearm can achieve when not equipped with a conversion kit, tool, accessory, or device; and
A bump stock, trigger crank, hellfire trigger, binary trigger system, burst trigger system, or a copy thereof. (Sect. 1)
Exempts a “Trigger Activator” from including a semi-automatic replacement trigger, designed for use in competitive shooting, that improves performance and functionality over the stock trigger (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 2).
