Vote to concur with House passage and pass a bill that limits the sale of assault-style weapons to individuals 21 or older in Virginia.
Prohibits the purchase, possession, sale, transfer, etc., of assault firearms manufactured on or after July 1, 2025 (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the purchase, possession, sale, transfer, etc., of assault firearms by persons younger than 21 years of age in Virginia regardless of manufacture date (Sec. 1).
Prohibits any person in violation of this section from the purchase, possession, sale, transfer, etc., of a firearm for 3 years following the date of such conviction (Sec. 1).
Specifics that these provisions shall not apply to any government officer, agent, or employee, or member of the Armed Forces of the United States who is acting within the scope of his duties (Sec. 1).
Specifics that these provisions shall not apply to firearms which are (Sec. 1):
Antique;
Permanently inoperable;
Manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action; or
Manufactured before July 1, 2025.
