Vote to pass a bill that authorizes victims of domestic violence to receive benefits even if they voluntarily left work for their own safety in Michigan.

Highlights:

• Authorizes individual victims of domestic violence to receive unemployment benefits even if they voluntarily left work or had their hours reduced to less than full-time for their safety in Michigan (Sec. 1).

• Specifies claimants would have the ability to disprove the presumption that they voluntarily left their job without good cause after missing work for 3 or more consecutive days due to extenuating circumstances (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall not take effect until passage and approval by the Governor and simultaneous passage and approavl of S.B. 40 (Sec. 2).
