Vote to pass a bill that transfers certain law enforcement officers to the Michigan state police retirement system.

Highlights:

• Transfers certain law enforcement officers in eligible positions to the Michigan state police retirement system beginning September 30, 2024 (Sec. 1).

• Defines “eligible position” as a position in the classified civil service with a classification of any of the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Corrections resident representative;

• Corrections transportation officer;

• Special alternative incarceration officer;

• Corrections medical officer;

• Corrections medical unit officer;

• Assistant deputy warden;

• State deputy warden;

• Senior executive warden; or

• Forensic security assistant.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor and simultaneous passage and S.B. 165 and S.B. 167 as well (Sec. 1).
