Vote to pass a bill that increases penalties for child labor law violations, like employing children illegally or putting them in illegal working conditions

Highlights:

• Reduces the maximum sentence for a third or subsequent offense of employment of children during certain hours from 10 years to 5 years (Sec. 14b).

• Establishes the crime of Employment of children during certain hours involving death or great bodily harm and a maximum sentence of 5 years for the first offense, 10 years for the second offense, and 20 years for the third of subsequent offenses (Sec. 14b).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 14b).
