Title: Amends the California Food Assistance Program

Vote to pass a bill that amends the California Food Assistance Program.

  • Requires the State Department of Social Services to establish a food assistance program, known as the California Food Assistance Program (CFAP), to assist noncitizens of the United States if their immigration status meets the eligibility criteria of SNAP in effect on August 21, 1996 (Sec. 2).

  • Repeals the previous age requirement of 55 for receiving aforementioned food assistance program benefits and specifies there shall be no age requirements beginning October 1, 2027 (Sec. 2).

  • Requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by this bill (Sec. 3).
