Title: Authorizes Social Workers to Carry and Administer Opioid Antagonists such as Naloxone
a vote to pass a bill to authorize social workers employed in Illinois to administer Opoid antagonists such as Naxalone and other medicines
Amends the Clinical Social Work and Social Work Practice Act and the Good Samaritan Act (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a licensed clinical social worker or licensed social worker may possess and administer opioid antagonists (Sec. 1).
Provides that if a person employs a licensed clinical social worker or licensed social worker and the licensed clinical social worker or licensed social worker possesses an opioid antagonist in a professional capacity, then the person must provide training in the administration of opioid antagonists (Sec. 1).
Establishes a policy to control the acquisition, storage, transportation, and administration of opioid antagonists (Sec. 1).
