Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the director of the division of pensions and benefits to initiate temporary transfer of funds in certain emergency circumstances in New Jersey.

Highlights:

• Appropriates temporary funds for state employee health benefits and dependent premiums should available funds be unable to fund more than 10 days of anticipated payments (Sec. 2)

• Requires the director of the division of pensions and benefits to notify the state Health Benefits Commission within 30 days of temporary payments; and

• Prohibits this funding from covering more than 30 days of anticipated payments;

• Requires the funding to be repaid from the health benefits fund within 120 days (Sec. 2)

• Authorizes exceptions should the director of the division of pensions and benefits find it necessary in order to pay claims made by employees who are not state employees (Sec. 2).
