Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires the Department of Education distribute diabetes fact sheets to parents and guardians in Pennsylvania.

Highlights:

• Requires the development of type 1 diabetes informational material for Parents and Guardians (Sec. 1).

• Requires the informational material to include (Sec. 1):

• A description of type 1 diabetes;

• A description of risk factors and warning signs;

• A recommendation that any student with warning signs of type 1 diabetes immediately consult with their primary care provider to see if a screening is necessary;

• A description of the screening process for type 1 diabetes which includes: and

• The significance of the stages; and

• Implications of test results identifying stages 1,2 or 3.

• A recommendation that the parent or guardian of a student with type 1 diabetes consult with their primary care provider to come up with a treatment plan.

• Requires the informational materials be available for the 2025-2025 school year in writing, electronically, or on the schools website (Sec. 2).
