Vote to pass a bill that authorizes worker compensation for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) injuries in Pennsylvania.

Highlights:

• Requires a claim for post-traumatic stress injury suffered by a first responder shall establish that the injury was the result of undergoing a qualifying traumatic event and was sustained in the course and scope of their employment (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that a post-traumatic stress injury suffered by a first responder shall not be required to be the result of an abnormal working condition to be compensable under this bill (Sec. 2).

• Requires that worker compensation benefits for a post-traumatic stress injury suffered by an individual be available for the period of the injury but not more than 104 weeks (Sec. 2).

• Requires claims for a post-traumatic stress injury to be filed no later than 3 years after the date of original diagnosis and no more than 5 years before this bill's passage into law (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect one year after passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 4).
