Title: Authorizes Various Criminal Sentencing Regulations and Parole Guideline Reforms
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that authorizes various criminal sentencing guidelines and parole guidelines in Pennsylvania.
Authorizes various criminal sentencing guidelines and parole guidelines in Pennsylvania (Sec. 2-8).
Amends titles 42 (judiciary and procedure) and 61 (prisons and parole) of the Pennsylvania consolidated statutes related to juvenile matters (Sec. 2-8).
Establishes certain pregnant or postpartum restrictions, training, support, and reporting in correctional facilities (Sec. 2-8).
Amends state recording systems related to pregnant and postpartum incarcerated individuals or detainees and repeals provisions relating to the Department of Human Services facilities beginning December 31, 2025 (Sec. 2-8).
Amends certain provisions related to inmate confinement policies (Sec. 2-8).
Requires policies that support healthy births for incarcerated individuals including cavity search and inspection restrictions (Sec. 2-8).
Requires employee training and education for postpartum recovery that includes (Sec. 2-8):
The general care of a pregnant child;
The impact of restrains on a pregnant child and unborn baby;
The impact of invasive searches on a pregnant child; and
Any other pertinent information the Department finds appropriate or necessary.
Specifies that provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 9).
