Vote to amend and pass a bill that requires DD-214s be inaccessible to anyone other than a veteran or an immediate family member in Pennsylvania.

Highlights:

• Requires confidentiality of discharge record and prohibits disclosure of record but exempts the following (Sec. 1303): 

• Those who are immediate family, have been authorized in writing, or are representatives or agent of individual; 

• Requests of record or report if it occurred 85 years ago or later; or

• Is authorized by the federal government, Commonwealth agency, or county director of veterans affairs.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 1304).
