Highlights:

• Defines “generative artificial intelligence” as an engineered or machine-based system that can generate derived synthetic content that emulates the structure and characteristics of the system’s training data (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Technology to update the governor and respond to significant developments within generative artificial intelligence (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Office of Emergency Services to perform a risk analysis of potential threats posed by the use of generative artificial intelligence (Sec. 1).

• Requires a state department that utilizes generative artificial intelligence to directly communicate with a person regarding government services to ensure the following (Sec. 1):

• The communications include a disclaimer that indicates to the person that the communication was generated by generative artificial intelligence; and

• The communications include information that indicates to the person how they can contact a human employee of the state department.
