Highlights:

• Amends the recording of court-filed documents in North Carolina, including authorizing certified copies of court-file documents to be recorded without meeting certain conforming requirements of the register of deeds (Part 1, Sec. 1).

• Prohibits individuals from unlawfully selling, leasing, or renting residential real property they have no lawful or legal ownership of and specifies violators shall be guilty of a Class H felony and subsequent criminal penalties (Part V, Sec. 5).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning October 1, 2024 (Part VI, Sec. 6).
