Title: Establishes a Statewide Health and Safety Fee

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a statewide health and safety fee that allows visitors to help contribute to the readiness cost of emergency services through an up to $1.00 per day/activity fee that would be distributed to the counties twice per year.

Highlights:

 

  • Authorizes county commissions to impose a health and safety fee for tourism and recreational activities within the county (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires the listing of applicable activities and how fees are to be calculated thereon (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires that fee may only be collected once on any seasonal or annual pass purchased for activities to which fee is applicable (Sec. 1).
